Winter tips and advice

As we enter the winter season and before the actual weather begins, we advise you to do the following:

Preventive maintenance for home extensions 1

Maintaining and closing all openings around doors and windows to maintain the temperature of the house and prevent the leakage of heat that may escape through poorly installed windows and doors when operating heating devices or any other means.

Maintaining surveillance cameras and checking extensions

Check the corners of the house and work to address water leaks to the main electrical panel or the meter panel, if any.

Do not overload the electrical installations beyond their capacity, and avoid using electricity distributors as much as possible.

Ensure that wires are not exposed, especially when using electrical appliances.

Installing loose materials to ensure that they do not fall on electricity networks.

Stay away from trees and materials that fall on the ground.

During the low

In rainy and cold weather, we advise everyone to check all electrical appliances and unplug them from the sockets, in order to ensure that power does not return to any device if the electricity is cut off.

Turn off any electrical device immediately after using it, and this includes the electric water heater

Avoid using candles as much as possible. If you do, they should be placed in a deep glass container with a little water at the bottom, and placed away from flammable materials.

Minimize the use of electrical connections as much as possible

Avoid using heaters in bedrooms near bedding and flammable materials.

Check the home electrical switchboard when the power goes out first, and then you can confirm with the neighbors that there is a general outage.

Electrical accidents

Electricity must be dealt with with extreme caution and children must not be allowed to tamper with appliances, power cords or plugs, while making them aware of the dangers of electricity early.

Measures to prevent electrical accidents include the following points: · Lift electrical connections and devices out of the reach of children as much as possible. · Always be careful not to let children get close to electrical connections when using them. · Always ensure that electrical wires are valid and conform to standard specifications. ·Do not overload the connections beyond their capacity. ·Place electrical appliances on stable stands, for fear of them falling on children when pulling them. ·Avoid touching electrical devices with wet hands. · Accustom children to optimal handling when using electrical devices and to follow their instructions. · Avoid operating devices on wet floors, and it is always preferable to wear shoes to prevent electrical shocks. · Stay away from exposed “cables” anywhere and do not touch electrical poles, especially during rain. · Maintaining electrical appliances, always checking them and ensuring they are fit for use. · Disconnect the electrical power from the devices in use as soon as they are finished. · Block unused power outlets with plastic plugs
